Local MP Blake Stephenson has planted a remembrance tribute on behalf of Mid Bedfordshire residents in the Speaker's Constituency Garden of Remembrance at the Houses of Parliament.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Speaker of the House of Commons, created the garden to mark 100 years of Remembrance as we know it in 2021.
The Speaker held a service to mark the opening of this year's garden earlier this week to allow each of the 650 constituencies in the UK, the 56 member countries of the Commonwealth, 14 British Overseas Territories, and three Crown Dependencies to be represented.
Blake Stephenson, the Mid Bedfordshire MP, visited on Wednesday (30th) to plant his stake on behalf of Mid Bedfordshire residents.
Blake said: "It was an honour to visit the Speaker's Constituency Garden of Remembrance at the Houses of Parliament to plant a Remembrance Tribute on behalf of the people of Mid Bedfordshire.
"We must always remember those who gave so much for our freedom, and thank everybody who continues to bravely serve our country every single day."
