The potential future of hydrogen powered air travel was on full display for local MP Blake Stephenson during a visit to Cranfield University on Friday (20th September).
Cranfield Aerospace Solutions is developing world-leading technology and targeting world’s first zero emission commercial aircraft by 2027 and is aiming for the companies first hydrogen-electric powered flight next year.
Blake first met with Cranfield University's Vice Chancellor Professor Dame Karen Holford to talk about the university's plans and how they're continuing to focus on the jobs of the future. He was then taken to Cranfield Aerospace Solutions which is based on site, but a separate entity to the university.
Blake Stephenson MP said: "It's incredibly exciting to have such a forward-thinking, innovative business based in Mid Bedfordshire and it's amazing to think the world's first ever zero emission commercial flight could be delivered right here in Cranfield.
"I'm looking forward to continuing to working closely with Cranfield Aerospace Solutions as they continue their exciting work in the coming years."
