Blake Stephenson, the MP for Mid Bedfordshire, has met with local representatives of the Fire Brigade Union (FBU) in Ampthill.
The local MP is keen to engage with key stakeholders from across the constituency as soon as possible after being elected last month and has hit the ground running.
His meeting with the FBU follows talks with the Chief Executives of Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedford Borough Council, the Police and Crime Commissioner, Luton & Dunstable and Bedford Hospital, and many more. He has also held a number of surgeries and coffee catch-ups to engage with local residents.
The discussion with the FBU at Ampthill Fire Station focused around improving health and safety conditions for firefighters, better equality and diversity in the service and concerns around the future of the fire service in Bedfordshire.
