Local MP Blake Stephenson has joined the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the East Of England as a vice chair to make sure Mid Bedfordshire gets the recognition it needs and deserves.
APPGs see Members of Parliament from different political parties come together on a regular basis to discuss improvements can be made in a particular policy area - or in this case a particular geographical area.
Labour's Andrew Pakes MP (Peterborough) and Jess Asato MP (Lowestoft) were elected as co-chairs at the inaugural meeting yesterday (11th September), while Blake and Lib Dem MP Marie Goldman (Chelmsford) were both elected as co-vice chairs.
The APPG will promote the East of England 'as a great place to work, study, live, visit and invest'.
