Boosting tourism and supporting the hospitality industry in Mid Bedfordshire has been high on the agenda for local MP Blake Stephenson since his election last year and he has continued this work by meeting with local businesses at Woburn Safari Park.
Organised by UK Hospitality, Blake joined hospitality employers across Bedfordshire including the Safari Park, Greene King, the Bedford Swan Hotel and Waterfront Hotel and Spa.
On the agenda at the meeting included the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, including the Government's National Insurance hike. They also discussed how the proposed Universal development would boost tourism in Bedfordshire.
Blake Stephenson MP said: "Protecting our hospitality industry is vital. In Mid Bedfordshire 157 hospitality venues generate £89 million in revenue and create 2,229 jobs.
"I'm grateful to UK Hospitality for arranging this meeting and to Woburn Safari Park for hosting us and giving us a fantastic tour of the park."
"I’ll be holding more business roundtables this year so do get in touch if you would like to come along to one."
