Mid Bedfordshire MP Blake Stephenson has asked the Government to review the policing funding formula so rural villages and towns get their fair share of police resources.
National Rural Crime Action Week runs from 21st-25th October to highlight how the importance of tackling rural crime which, according to NFU Mutual’s rural crime report, cost the UK £52.8m last year and is a 4.3% rise on the previous year.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Blake Stephenson MP asked Yvette Cooper, the Home Secretary, to whether the Government would review the funding formula to be fairer to rural villages and towns in policing areas like Bedfordshire which include urban areas such as Luton and Bedford.
