- Shillington's Great Spring Clean takes more than 20 bags of litter off our roadside, footpaths and playing fields
- This event followed an equally successful litter pick in Meppershall, on 18th March, organised by the parish council
Blake Stephenson, local election candidate for Gravenhurst, Meppershall and Shillington in Central Bedfordshire, organised a successful litter pick in the village of Shillington on 25th March.
With more than 20 bags of litter picked along our roads, footpaths and in the playing fields over 2 hours, this was a significant contribution to keeping Shillington ship shape and to the GB Spring Clean campaign.
Speaking about the event, Blake said:
"It's a great shame that litter picking is necessary, but it was wonderful for the community to come together so enthusiastically to help spruce up the village ahead of Spring and Summer. I'd like to thank all our litter heroes, who got their gloves on and gabbers out, and got involved".
