Blake Stephenson, the MP for Mid Bedfordshire, is encouraging the Police and Crime Commissioner to put a greater focus on rural crime and road safety.
The local MP has been listening to residents across his Mid Bedfordshire constituency and is keen to make sure their voices are heard, with a more visible police presence one of the priorities.
In a letter to PCC John Tizzard, who recently set out his Police and Crime Plan for Bedfordshire, the local MP stressed the importance of smaller towns and villages in the county getting their fair share of policing resources.
Road safety and speeding is another area Blake is keen to ensure the Police and Crime Commissioner takes seriously.
Blake Stephenson MP said: “It’s absolutely vital that our rural communities in the smaller towns and villages of Bedfordshire know they have their fare share of policing resources as the rest of the county.
“From speaking to residents all over the constituency I know road safety and a visible policing presence are two priorities we need to see a greater focus on.
“I look forward to working with our Police and Crime Commissioner as he develops his Police and Crime Plan to ensure our rural areas are listened to.”
